Like i really mean what i say in my title. There's no such things as too soon to ord (of course la...still have to go wallaby). But come to think of it, my 2 yrs stint in 42 is almost over. It's late september already and only abt 2+ months to 14 Dec 2009.
I'm gonna sum up my 2 yrs in this short post (dun worry, i'm fully aware of the official secret act). A couple of weeks ago, i came across this article in the straits time by Sumiko Tan (i think that's her name...pardon me if i made a mistake). In her article, she mentioned that her male friends are separated into 2 factions. One of them totally abhor serving while the other saw it as a good learning experience. For me (and i believe for most guys), the answer is similar. As long as you are still serving (like me), u will absolutely hate it. However, if u managed to survive the whole ordeal (me-to-be), u will know it to be a rewarding and enriching experience (duh...do you know how many survival skills we put into actual use in this 2 yrs).
When we all look back into the last 2 yrs, i'm sure each and everyone of us will remember the tough, unpleasant times. Area cleaning, extra duty, late book out, overwhelming workload, hair dryer treatment from superiors and the list goes on. However, never forget the good times. We, human are too obsess in our own suffering and should look beyond that. Remember the time when someone offered to help you clean your bunk when you are busy, remember the time when someone agreed to swop duty with you due to your commitments, remember the time when everyone worked under the rain together to achieve a common objective, remember the time when someone offered to get you something from the canteen when you are held up busy, remember the time when your superior pat you on the back for a job well done.
Now that i'm almost at the end of my journey, i would like to thank every single individual for being a part of this 2 yrs. i've seen alot, done alot and met alot of wonderful people. I sincerely thank those who were always around to lend me a helping hand and a listening ear.
Wally, Barry, give me one final push the finish line...
