Moral Courage...it reminds me of the Marvel Civil War, where Captain America stood up against the government, the people and his friends to defend the American Way, Ideal, Dreams. This has to be the epitome of moral courage, to stand against everything you hold dear to just to defend a certain belief that outshines the rest.

Being someone who's partly idealistic and very easily inspired, i was pretty sure that i'm able to uphold basic moral courage too...not to the scale of Cap of course but simple things like standing up against wrongdoings and injustice, even if it's someone i know (afterall, Cap fought against so many of his friends just to defend the dream)
And here comes the day where everything changes. when the incident came, all i'm capable of is just dropping my jaw, looking a little shell-shocked and continued with what i was doing. All these ideals, integrity and moral courage became bullshit all of a sudden...it's feels a little like me betraying something which i believe in.
I believe the rest were not comfortable with what had transpired, they did voice out unhappiness behind backs, but i dun think they notice that this is not only about him but also abt us. Needless to say, there is something flawed in him, everyone sees that, but what is impt is that the incident also revealed something flawed in us...the lack of courage to stand up for what's right and not just stick to what's easy. It's easy for us to just comment and give opinions, but it's another thing to confront the person in his face. Look at me, even now, I'm avoiding using explicit names or even his initials. This shows that even up till now, i'm still lacking that certain courage.
Up till now, i've been playing judge and jury but lack the courage to carry out the execution...but in the first place, do i even have the right to play the role of the judge? There's another separate incident where we tore open other packs and added them into the one we are buying. Doesn't that constitute to stealing as well? So does the guilty have the right to say that someone is more guilty than he is? On the way back, i tried to justify this by telling someone that it's different. He's blatantly disrespect for the law and is challenging the law upfront. For us, we are still paying for it, just getting more than what we paid for as well as that it is more explainable should be get caught. We are not challenging it, just figuring a way to sneak below/around it.
I think this is just me liking the role of the judge and jury too much, so much so that i try to justify my right to judge even when i do not the right to. Looking at the circumstances, aren't we being more scheming by having an "escape plan" even as we stole(i think it's a pretty strong word but this is a fact). So do we have the right to judge him? The best way i could judge him is that he's stupid to try it without a backup plan or explanation but we are definitely in no position to judge his deed.
So what now? I actually pretty lost on what to write. Should these incident happen again will i be able to do what's right and not what's easy? I sincerely hope that that test will never come...
